Castlefield, Manchester is seen from the water, looking along a canal towards a red iron arch and a lattice railway bridge carried on tall brick piers. Brick viaduct arches run off to the left, narrowboats are moored along both banks, and a cluster of windowed buildings and a crane stand beyond. The linocut works in deep navy, brick red and off-white, with cut lines rippling across the water.
