The Pierhead Building, Cardiff, is drawn from the open paving below, looking up along its long front of arched windows to the clock tower and its slender spire. Figures walk and gather across the square, with lamp posts, signage boards and a low building edging the background. Broad rays and stacked clouds fill the sky behind, in an Art Deco palette of teal, cream and warm ochre with flat, clean-edged shapes.
