About Landguard Fort
Landguard Fort stands just outside Felixstowe in Suffolk, and it was built to guard the entrance to the River Orwell where that river reaches the sea. Today the charity English Heritage looks after it, and it is open to visitors. The fort is a scheduled monument and a Grade I listed building.
