About St Modwen's Church
St Modwen's is a parish church of the Church of England in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, within the Diocese of Lichfield. It is dedicated to St Modwen, also known as Modwenna, a nun who in the 7th century founded an abbey in Burton. After the abbey was dissolved, the town used what remained of the abbey church, and St Modwen's was built to replace those remains. It is listed at Grade I.
