About Grand Pier
Weston-super-Mare's Grand Pier, a pleasure pier on the Bristol Channel in North Somerset, lies about 18 miles south-west of Bristol. It opened in 1904, runs 366 metres out to sea, and has been Grade II listed since 1983. Fire has destroyed its pavilion twice, in 1930 and again in 2008. The town has three piers in all: Birnbeck Pier closed in 1994 and now stands derelict, while Weston Revo Pier, first opened in 1995 under the name Sealife Centre, now has crazy golf and a restaurant.
